This lotion delivers the nourishing power of tallow in a silky, lighter-weight texture. Rich in skin-supportive fatty acids and formulated with organic oils, it provides lasting hydration while helping to maintain your skin’s natural barrier.
Our Tallow Lotion comes in an 8 fl oz glass bottle with a reusable pump. If you're reordering and don’t need a new pump, simply leave us a note at checkout — it’s a small choice that helps us reduce plastic waste.
Available in Two Formulas:
1. Simply Tallow (unscented/fragrance free) is for those who prefer a minimal formula.
It’s ideal for sensitive skin.
2. With Essential Oils features our blend of essential oils chosen for both their aromatic qualities and skin benefits.
At the heart of this blend are four varieties of frankincense resin oils, each prized for their distinctive aroma and skin-nourishing qualities:
- Boswellia carterii – earthy and resinous
- Boswellia frereana – light and sweet with a comforting feel
- Boswellia papyrifera – smooth, balsamic notes
- Boswellia sacra – rich and grounding
They are paired with:
- Lavender essential oil – soft floral balance
- Sweet orange peel essential oil – bright and uplifting
- Vanilla oleoresin – warm, comforting sweetness
Paired with our tallow and nourishing plant oils, this blend works to hydrate, protect, and restore your skin with every use.
Ingredients:
Simply Tallow: Water, beef tallow, sweet almond oil, emulsifying wax, stearic acid, glycerin, dehydroacetic acid and benzyl alcohol
With Essential Oils: Water, beef tallow, sweet almond oil, emulsifying wax, stearic acid, lavender oil, orange peel oil, frankincense resin oils (carterii, frereana, papyrifera, sacra), vanilla oleoresin, glycerin, dehydroacetic acid* and benzyl alcohol*
*Geogard 221 preservative is a combination of dehydroacetic acid and benzyl alcohol. It’s globally approved by ECOCERT and COSMOS for use in natural and organic skincare, and it’s one of the few preservatives considered both skin-friendly and environmentally safe. Geogard 221 is biodegradable and non-persistent in the environment. It doesn’t release formaldehyde, contain parabens, or contribute to aquatic toxicity, making it a better choice for both your skin and the planet. It’s effective at very low usage rates, which helps us maintain the integrity of our formula while still ensuring microbial safety—especially important in water-based products like lotion.

About Our Tallow
Our grass-fed tallow for the Reserve Collection (Green Label) is sourced exclusively from cattle raised on our own pastures here at Lily Hill Farm.
The Standard Line (White Label) tallow is primarily rendered from our cattle as well, with additional supply sourced from small, family-run farms near our operation that share our commitment to regenerative grazing, humane care, and land stewardship.
Cattle across all operations are never given growth hormones, antibiotics, steroids, or animal by-products.
We believe in full transparency about how and where our ingredients are sourced. However, some of our tallow comes from small, family-run farms near our own operation that have very limited production capacity. To protect our supply of tallow, we do not publicly list their names. But we’re always happy to share more details privately upon request.

Our certified-organic jojoba and sweet almond oil are sourced from Plant Therapy, chosen for their uncompromising standards of purity, traceability, and sustainability.

About Our Organic Botanicals
Our herbs for our oil infusions, including marshmallow root, chamomile, and calendula, are certified organic and sourced from Pacific Botanicals, a U.S.-based grower dedicated to regenerative and organic practices.
Storage
All products should be stored at room temperature and kept away from direct sunlight or extreme heat. Whipped Tallow Balm should not be exposed to high temperatures. Variations in temperature may cause separation or slight changes in texture, however these do not affect product quality.
